Curatorial & Programming

As the inaugural Head of Program Production at the Institute for Contemporary Art at VCU, I produce more than 100 public programs annually, including performances, experimental music, lectures, and festivals. Across roles, I’ve supported artists through small, focused programs and large, technically demanding events. Artists I’ve worked with include ssSssssssssss (Virgil Taylor and Ashkan Sepahvand), Julien Creuzet, Evicshen, Morgan Bassichis, Brontez Purnell, Anh Vo, Khadija Mbowe, Ana Pi, Johanna Hedva, and many others.

In 2024 I curated the No Input experimental music series at the ICA. The series title referenced the sound mixing technique where feedback loops create unique soundscapes without external sources and the self-sustaining nature of distinct regional styles in local music communities. I am a strong proponent of educational initiatives and publications at the ICA at VCU, amplifying exhibitions through takeaways and printed matter, or supporting ICA publications through book-centered programming.

I run Mode of Production, a record label and production company that serves as a convener for experimental music in the American south. Alongside my institutional work, I maintain an active practice in experimental music and live performance, which informs my curatorial and production approach. I also host a lecture series called Off Topic. Collaborating with the artist and archivist Taylor Moorman, Off Topic is committed to supporting new ideas before they are popular.
